Mutual of Omaha's Enterprise Data Warehouse Platform and Services team is seeking an System Engineer to serve as an administrator, owner, and champion of enterprise data platforms while helping our technical partners successfully leverage the technologies we support.

- Estimated Salary: Engineer II: $110,000 - $120,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Administer, support, document and continually improve enterprise data platforms and associated technologies.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot software on Linux-based, Cloud-based, and other supported platform environments.
- Partner with Data Engineers, Application Development teams and other technical users to help them effectively utilize supported platforms.
- Monitor platform health, investigate issues and drive timely resolution of operational incidents and service requests.
- Automate operational processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and user experience.
- Pursue Operational Excellence through documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous service improvement.
- Maintain and enhance data mart (ETL and database model) and reporting structures.
- Support weekly 24x7 on call rotation with production level service-level agreements (SLA).
- Prioritize and resolve daily questions, requests, infrastructure system issues, and process design/redesign solutions.
- Participate in Agile planning processes, using Agile practices to prioritize, track, and manage work activities.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Professionally solved challenges associated with enterprise platform administration, operational support and troubleshooting over the last 4 or more years.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and prevent future issues.
- Demonstrated customer service mindset with a passion for helping technical users succeed.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and navigating ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.

- Understand scheduling, on premises versus cloud data integration constraints and costs.
- Understand application programming interface (API) implementations.
- Understand security standards, models, and strategies.
- Knowledge of database systems, connection limitations, and complex structured query language (SQL - DDL and DML) statements, design, and best practices.
PREFERRED:
- Minimum education of a bachelor’s-level computer science degree, a related degree or equivalent work experience.
- Administration and support of Informatica IDMC, Informatica CDI-PC and similar data integration platforms.
- Administering Linux-based platforms, Cloud-based platforms, and Informatica technologies in production environments.
- Snowflake, Snowflake dbt projects and related enterprise data technologies.
- Automation, scripting, DevOps and platform engineering experience.
- Working with database systems and data integration technologies.
- Supporting ETL processes, data models, and reporting environments.
- Implementing or supporting APIs and secure data integration solutions.
