Agile Project Manager I
DCHIPS Team – Senior Health Agile Release Train
We are seeking an Agile Project Manager I to join the DCHIPS team within our Senior Health Agile Release Train (ART). This role is ideal for a highly organized Project Manager who enjoys keeping teams aligned, keeping work visible, and moving delivery forward in a collaborative Agile environment.
DCHIPS is a team of approximately 14 engineers, support specialists, and data specialists supporting two core enterprise data systems – DCH (Data Clearinghouse) and CPIS (Client Policy Information System), including its mainframe and web components – along with UDB and customer-facing APIs. The team balances ongoing production support with project and enhancement delivery and is working to automate and streamline day-to-day support so it can focus on modernizing these platforms. The team is distributed across multiple states.
As the team's Agile Project Manager, you will own daily intake and work management, project status reporting, and Agile planning, along with stakeholder communication and incident visibility. No two days are exactly alike.
Over the next 6–12 months, you will help strengthen DCHIPS operational maturity, enhance project and portfolio status reporting by moving it from spreadsheets and slides into Jira Roadmaps, improve and further automate intake and work management processes, establish incident-management tracking, and support Medicare and Senior Health initiatives.
Unlike many traditional PM roles, this position offers exposure to Agile delivery, incident management, service management, and leadership communication, with visibility across Senior Health and Information Services. You will be supported by structured onboarding, hands-on training, documented team processes, access to the team's previous Agile Project Manager for knowledge transfer, and ongoing coaching as you ramp up.
If you are proactive, dependable, and energized by bringing clarity to complex work, we encourage you to apply.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:
- Estimated Salary: Project Manager I: $100k - $120k, plus annual bonus.
- 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
- Work-life balance with vacation, personal time and paid holidays. See our benefits and perks page for details.
- Primarily remote, with periodic onsite collaboration for quarterly 2-day PI (Program Increment) planning events, plus occasional 2-day team-building sessions.
- Applicants for this position must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment.
This role is classified as remote; however, periodic in-person attendance will be required at times for activities such as quarterly or project planning, training, or other business-critical meetings
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Lead daily intake triage across multiple Jira work queues and partner with Product Owners and technical leads to rout, prioritize, and coordinate incoming request.
- Coordinate and follow up on action items, decisions, risks, and dependencies across technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
- Maintain and improve intake automation and workflow rules to reduce manual triage.
- Support sprint planning, sprint changeover, and PI planning preparation and follow-up, including reporting PI risks and status at the ART level.
- Facilitate capacity planning by balancing project delivery commitments, recurring support responsibilities, PTO, and carryover work to support realistic sprint commitments.
- Coordinate support rotations, support assignments, and support-story creation.
- Maintain Jira data quality, hierarchy, reporting structures, and planning standards.
- Track project and initiative status, maintain visibility into active initiatives, milestones, projected completion dates, dependencies, and delivery health across the DCHIPS portfolio using Jira Roadmaps.
- Support incident tracking, communications, escalations, root-cause follow-up activities, and operational reporting to improve visibility into productions support trends.
- Deliver clear, timely status updates to leadership and stakeholders across technical and business teams.
- Partner with Product Owners, engineers, architects, support leads, and ART leadership to keep work visible and appropriately prioritized.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning, intake, support operations, reporting, and process automation.
- Occasionally provide after-hours support for release approvals, weekend validation, or major-incident coordination.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Experience in Agile Project Management or coordinating work for software, IT, or technical teams.
- Familiarity with Agile principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Comfort working through a steady flow of incoming requests and bringing order to it.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communicating status to leaders and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders and build relationships across teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and consistent follow-through.
- An eye for automating and simplifying repetitive work.
- Comfort managing ambiguity and changing priorities, with a willingness to take initiative rather than wait for direction.
PREFERRED:
- Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile work management tools
- Jira automation, dashboards, filters, or Roadmaps experience
- Scrum, SAFe, or PI planning experience
- Incident management, support operations, or service management experience
- Project status reporting, milestone tracking, or operational reporting experience
- Technical background or exposure to mainframe, legacy, or data environments
