We’re seeking an experienced underwriting leader to guide a high-performing team and manage complex, high‑risk cases. In this role, you’ll drive operational excellence, foster strong relationships with partners, and stay ahead of industry trends to ensure sound decision-making and business growth.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $110,000-$130,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop and maintain an engaged and accountable workforce; Plan, staff and manage team activities in accordance to company vision and established team policies, goals, and objectives. 
  • Consult, review, authorize decisions, oversee cases, and underwrite large, complex cases with significant financial risk.
  • Effectively communicate, build and /or maintain internal and external relationships.   Possess the ability to speak, negotiate, and explain our position during face-to-face meetings or presentation with distribution partners and business partners. 
  • May lead and/or participate in the development and implementation of new processes to meet current and future business needs.
  • Remain abreast of the competitive insurance environment, new and complex products, appropriate underwriting techniques and the constantly changing legislation that governs the business

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Seasoned underwriting experience to include a strong aptitude for evaluating and predicting financial risk of applicants.
  • Ability to persuade, convince, and influence to gain support and promote continuous improvement in processes and underwriting approach.
  • Assist in promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion, valuing different ideas and opinions, collaborating and remaining curious across all interactions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, building relationships across varied internal and external partnerships, becoming a key point of contact for escalations and business needs.
  • Bring accountability and ownership, ensuring work to be done is accomplished timely and with quality, performance and productivity are monitored and individuals are coached for success.
  • This role requires the ability to travel up to 15% of the time for business needs and partner engagement.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Possesses business knowledge in insurance industry trends and competitive products.
  • Prior Long Term Care Underwriting experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience building relationships with key accounts, face-to-face or remotely.
